Get Involved!
There are so many opportunities to get involved in a performing group. There are groups for every age and ability level. I have listed a few below.
Tacoma Community College Ensembles
TCC offers its students and local community musicians the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a variety of ensembles. Classical and popular music styles are frequently performed on campus by these musicians. For more information on how to get involved, contact John Falskow, 253-460-4374 or Anne Lyman, 253-566-6040

The organization is dedicated to advancing the talents of young wind ensemble musicians striving to expand their musical skills. Auditions are usually held in June. If you are interested in auditioning, please email President Justin Ehli at justinjehli@gmail.com.
Tacoma Concert Band
The Tacoma Concert Band’s mission is to provide the Puget Sound community with a professional quality wind ensemble performing the very finest symphonic band music; to offer a high-quality performance opportunity to local wind and percussion musicians; to support and encourage the region’s school band programs; and to reaffirm the community concert band’s position in American music. This group also holds auditions for student soloists. Applications are usually due in December.
Seattle Youth Symphony
The Seattle Youth Symphony Organization offers several performing groups for a variety of playing levels, including the Seattle Youth Symphony, Seattle Junior Symphony, Debut Orchestra, Symphonette Orchestra, and Chamber Ensembles. It also hosts the Marrowstone Summer Music Festival. Auditions are usually held in August.
The Seattle Conservatory
This organization has now joined with the Seattle Youth Symphony Organization. Beginning in September 2016, students ages 8 to 18 can enroll in both the Seattle Youth Symphony’s academic year orchestra program, and in the Seattle Conservatory’s outstanding chamber music and academic programs such as music theory, ear training, history and college preparatory classes.
